A customs broker is not a freight broker. Freight brokers arrange trucks under an MC number. Customs brokers file entries under a CBP permit and filer code. Confirm the identity against the official CBP broker lookup before you send a commercial invoice.
As of August 15, 2026, UNITECARGO has verified customs-broker profiles in more than 30 states. Only the records below currently publish a CBP filer code on the directory. A missing filer code is not proof the company is unlicensed; it means this directory has not documented the identifier yet. Check CBP directly.

How to use the list
Match the port to the broker. Miami entries are not interchangeable with Los Angeles or Seattle entries. Confirm permitted ports, commodity experience, and the filer code on CBP’s file. Then open the city pages that actually have customs inventory: Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Newark, Houston, and Seattle.
A freight forwarder may arrange the move and still not be the broker of record. Ask which CBP filer will appear on the entry.
